SUPERSTRINGS
In
the
compositions
named
Superstrings
by
superimposing
strings
on
the
quadrangles
which
stretch out into space, L.P. draws attention to the ties that bind the individual.
These
cords
or
strings
suggest
the
conventions
that
smother
the
individual,
hinting
at
the
alienation
of
the
human
being.
The
Strings
symbolically
represent
the
institutional
ties,
political
and
social
bonds,
religious
and
moral
prejudices,
which
cover
a
wide
gamut
of
individual repression.
