a

theme.
Having
been
wrongly
diagnosed,
Pegado
went
through
an
operation
that
was
unnecessary.
All
the
time
she
was
sure in herself that she was in a perfect state of health.
In
The
Efficacy
of
Being
she
asserts
in
repetitive
patterns
the
exultation
of
her
vitality.
Against
a
background
of
green
mosaic
or
tessellated
panels,
tempered
by
contrasting
tones
of
red
and
blue,
crossed
by
strips
of
light
and
iridescent
serpents,
undefined
forms
of
energy
take shape in a joyful claim to the beauty of living.
